Colleen Prayne Founder My Homeschool Hub Owner

I have been homeschooling since 2012. I never expected to be married, a mom, or to homeschool. Thankfully, God had a better plan! One of my deepest desires is to connect homeschoolers, in order to find community and enrich each others education and lives. I hope the homeschool classifieds in My Homeschool Hub will help you in your homeschool journey. I don’t care if we see things differently. If you homeschool, I hope you join me in this space.

  • Kelly Bell
    Kelly Bell Consultant

In fall 2018, Kelly Bell is entering the last year of an adventure-filled homeschool career that began in 2003 and has included a Roman feast (she was Kelligula), a backyard Sukkah (her neighbor said, “I didn’t know you were Jewish” – she’s not, she’s a follower of Jesus Christ), and some controlled explosions.   Kelly and her husband Jim have three daughters and a son who are now young adults.  When Kelly is not helping coach the local homeschool Science Olympiad team, she enjoys hikes, encouraging newer homeschoolers, and playing a game of Ticket to Ride with her family.

I homeschool my four children, ages 4-10, in a “flexible Waldorf” style. My family loves to hike and investigate nature, learn as many different crafts as possible, play music, cook together, and probably more than anything, play games! Although my husband Matt and I weren’t homeschooled and knew almost nothing about it, a chord was struck when I was pregnant for the first time and we felt pulled to it. Our boys now passionately pursue interests in music, programming, art, and electronics, while our four year-old daughter is the embodiment of the phrase “more is caught than taught!”

I am a military wife, mother of four, self-proclaimed book nerd, and a certified public school teacher – in that order. I taught the first, second, and fourth grades before deciding that my own children needed me more at home. I jumped into homeschooling two of my four kids and have never looked back. In my free time, I teach ESOL classes online, enjoy daily sessions at the gym, and spend quality time with my family.

I also possess over 5+ years of office management and specialty research project experience in a university setting.
