Work one on one with a Mentor Mom
The best advice you can get when it comes to homeschooling is from moms who have been in the game for a long time, stayed the course through the roller coaster of life, and have learned through real experience. Each of our Mentor Moms has a wealth of knowledge and is eager to help you navigate the challenges homeschooling brings in order to make your experience less stressful, less confusing, and to reduce your learning curve.
It doesn’t matter which state you live in, our Mentor Moms can help you.
There are many organizations to help you, no matter where you live.
Homeschooling laws are different in each state. Be sure to find out the legalities in your state. Do not wait to find a community to plug into. Having in-person interactions is very helpful for both you and your kids.
Does your child have special needs? Do not doubt that you can successfully homeschool. It is more common than not, for homeschooled kids to have greater success at home than in the schools-when their parents are committed to customizing their education and getting the support they need from private resources.
Check out our Homeschool Help Pages. We walk you through learning about what homeschooling is, what questions to ask to decide if it is right for you, help you learn what your style is, find curriculum that suits you, and more.
How do I homeschool?
Starting homeschooling can be one of the most daunting endeavors you undertake in your life.
It can also be one of the most amazing and fulfilling experiences you will ever have. When executed intentionally and thoughtful care, your family WILL be blessed. Broken relationships can be restored. Emotional and mental injuries are often improved, if not healed. Bonds are forged that will stand the test of time. Children receive a superior education than what they would otherwise receive in an institutional setting.
What about socialization? Homeschoolers are more often than not, better socialized than kids coming out of institutional schools, because the world is their classroom. They are used to interacting with people of all ages, not just their own age. There are now so many opportunities for homeschoolers, you will likely find it hard to decide what not to participate in, so you have enough time to stay home and get all your work done.
The learning curve is steep and it is shockingly easy to feel alone and become overwhelmed.
If you need help (and 99.9% of us do), don’t wait to get it. You do NOT have to do this alone. There are SO many resources available to you.
We are getting information for each state uploaded as quickly as we can. If your state’s info is not ready yet, we recommend going to HSDLA to learn about how to legally homeschool in your state and find resources near you.
We STRONGLY encourage every homeschooling parent to get a membership with HSLDA and utilize their support services that are available to their members. They also provide legal help to all of their members for any homeschool related issues they may have. We also STRONGLY recommend all Christian Homschoolers get a membership with Heritage Defense. They provide legal assistance to parents for both homeschool and non-homeschool matters.
No matter which state you live in, we want to support you and connect you to the people who are committed to serving you.
NEVER HOMESCHOOL ALONE.
One of our strongest desires is to make the world of homeschooling less confusing and more attainable for everyone who wants to homeschool.
If you know of a great resource that helps homeschoolers, we want to know about it!
