Welcome to Statheros Academy!
Please use the pull down tabs below to access important information for support for your school year. If there is anything we can do to help you have a more successful homeschool year, please do not hesitate to reach out. The fastest way to receive a response is through text messaging (719-941-5001), Facebook messenger, or email. All phone calls will be returned within 2 business days.
Withdrawing from a public or private school
Here is a letter template that you can customize with your family’s information to withdraw from a school. It will be most efficient if you include your Registration Confirmation letter with your withdrawal notification. If you receive any pushback and need assistance, do not hesitate to contact Colleen for help.
If you your Student last attended a school, we included a Records Transfer Request Form in your registration. This form is optional for you to submit to your child’s previous school. If you would like for their old school to transfer their records, please sign this form and include it with the withdrawal notification that you send to the former school. It usually expedites the withdrawal process if you use the verbiage in the link above and attach the Transfer Records Request form and your Confirmation Registration letter from us.
DO NOT FILL OUT OR SUBMIT A NOTICE OF INTENT TO HOMESCHOOL. If your previous school tells you to sign any forms, read them carefully. If you submit a Notice of Intent, you will be operating under the school district’s purview, which defeats the purpose of enrolling in an umbrella school.
If you have any questions or concerns about any forms, we are happy to look at those for you, but cannot provide legal advice.
If your student has an IEP and their former school asks you to sign a form relinquishing your student’s IEP rights, we encourage you to register for a membership with HSLDA (use Statheros’ discount code 301171 when you register) and request for them review the form with you and advise you on anything that you need to be aware of regarding these forms.
Please log your completed hours on your own however you choose to do this. This can be marking completed days on a calendar, making & keeping lesson plans, or keeping a learning journal. Please keep it on hand and easy to access, should you ever need it. Here is an Excel Attendance Log you may use if you like. It can be printed or used on your device.
At the end of your school year, please submit your Attendance Log for your family’s file. This is due no later than June 30, 2023. Please update submit your Attendance Log here.

End of Year Evaluations/Testing
Statheros Academy End of Year Evaluations/Testing does NOT follow the Homeschool State Law schedule of odd grade levels, 3, 5, 7, 9, & 11.
Our families choose either an “Odd Calendar Year” or “Even Calendar Year” schedule for all kids in grades 3+.
Odd Calendar Year families all complete evaluations or tests for all of their kids that are in grade 3 or higher at the end of school years that are odd numbers. 2022-2023, 2024-2025, 2026-2027 etc.
Even Calendar Year families all complete evaluations or tests for all of their kids that are in grade 3 or higher at the end of school years that are even numbers. 2021-2022, 2023-2024, 2025-2026 etc.
All of Statheros Academy families receive a Parent Evaluation that you may complete for your child and submit with your enrollment. We also have Mentor Moms who perform professional evaluations, if you would like that service instead. Do you prefer tests? We will accept any test you choose to administer for your students.
Evaluations/Tests are due June 30 of each school year. If you need an extension for that deadline, due to unforeseeable circumstances, we are happy to work with you to find a solution for success for your family.
Please use the forms below to either submit your Parent Evaluation or your student’s Professional Evaluation or Test results.

HSLDA Discount/Heritage Defense
If you are able, we recommend all families getting a membership with HSLDA (use discount code 301171 for $15 off your membership) and/or Heritage Defense.
They are not just organizations that provide legal assistance, they also have many amazing benefits.
We recommend that homeschooling families join HSLDA. Even if you never experience legal trouble yourself, your HSLDA membership will help enable other homeschooling families to get the legal help they need and will help defend our right to homeschool here in Colorado. Membership in HSLDA also gives you personal access to the legal staff; HSLDA’s experienced high school, special needs, and Toddlers to Tweens consultants; and discounts through HSLDA’s PerX program. (For more information about HSLDA’s many benefits, see www.hslda.org.)
Statheros Academy members SAVE $15 on the HSLDA membership price when you enter our Discount Group code 301171 on the HSLDA membership form!
In the unlikely circumstance that any authorities come to your door, do NOT let them into your home. Be respectful at all times, do not become confrontational.
If you have a membership with HSDLA or Heritage Defense, get them on the phone as the event is unfolding, do not wait to call them. In order for either of these organizations to provide legal assistance, you must be a member before there is any kind of an open investigation.
If you think you want to get a membership with either or both of them, don’t put it off.
